WaYAH BALD WEDDINGS

Wedding in the Sky

A wedding at Wayah Bald in Nantahala, NC, offers an exclusive and picturesque experience. High above the trees in the Nantahala National Forest, Wayah Bald provides a panoramic view of the Appalachian Mountains, perfect for a memorable ceremony.

The historic Wayah Bald Fire Tower, with its 360-degree view of mountains and valleys, hosts the ceremony. Afterward, a beautiful catered reception takes place at the Glen Choga Lodge.

Simple floral arrangements and rustic wooden seating enhance the natural decor. Wayah Bald is accessible via a scenic drive along Nantahala Lake on Wayah Road, with transportation available from Glen Choga Lodge. There’s a nominal fee for using Wayah Bald for the wedding.

At Glen Choga Lodge, a firepit with Adirondack seating, a hidden courtyard, and indoor parlor areas provide a comfortable space for guests. The vast vistas, fire tower, and natural surroundings offer ample photo opportunities. While photos are taken, guests can return to the lodge for the reception, enjoying the serene environment and nearby hiking trails.

3- or 4-day Wedding Packages include:

Friday through Sunday

  • Lodging: Entire Lodge: Friday through Sunday $3,200.00
  • Lodging: Cabin: Friday through Sunday is available to the bride and groom during their stay for a reduced rate.
  • Total: $8,000.00. 

Thursday through Sunday

  • Lodging: Entire Lodge: Friday through Sunday $4,800.00
  • Lodging: Cabin: Friday through Sunday is available to the bride and groom during their stay for a reduced rate.
  • Total: $10,000.00. 

Based on a total guest count of 48 guests, including the bridal party.

DAY OF PRICING

The Day-of-the-Wedding Package includes designated bathroom facilities and designated event areas. You should have a wedding planner who will work with GCL. The fee for the Day-of package is below and must be paid 30 days before the scheduled wedding day. We’ll be able to help with local vendors of our choice on your behalf at an additional.

WE ASK THAT YOU PLEASE READ

  • Proof of experienced and Certified Wedding Planner, even for the Day Of Package
  • Signed rental agreement with a deposit payment to reserve your date. The deposit is non-refundable after 30 days of receipt of the deposit.
  • Signed Policy Notice 30 days before the event.
  • Proof of purchase of liability insurance is required three months before the wedding date.
  • We recommend a Wedding Event Insurance Policy, but it is entirely up to you. We have a local insurance company that can write you a policy for about $250 (this may vary depending on the local prices at the time of the wedding). The Knot and WeddingWire also list companies on their websites.
  • We are a boutique wedding venue; therefore, we limit the number of wedding day guests to around 30 people.


ADD-ONS

  • Pontoon boat excursion for photographs on the lake with your photographer, weather permitting. $100/hour.
  • Arrival evening basket with champagne and goodies for the brides room.
  • If you are staying at the Little Bear Cabin and want to include breakfast, please prepay at booking. Should you decide to add it on after arrival, the staff will need a one-day notice to be prepared, and a charge to your credit card will be $10.00 per guest. The 24-hour notice to enjoy your breakfast served in the lodge will be necessary each day, and you will be charged accordingly at the time of notification.


NOT INCLUDED

The event package does not include the following:

  • Catering — $25 per plate or more, depending on the protein
  • Decorations and set up — $300 and up
  • Bartenders — # of servers at about $15 per hour
  • DJ or DJ setup — $300 and up
  • Servers — # of servers at about $15 per hour
  • Tents — $900 and up, depending on size
  • Florals — $1,000 or more, depending on choices
  • Photographer — $300 and up, depending on choices

We will provide a list of local businesses you can call to provide these services. We will try accommodating you if you have different vendors, but we must approve your vendor choice before allowing it.

We do our best to accommodate any other requests you may have, however, most will have extra costs associated.
